Harminder Singh Boparai received the gold medal for an artist's best achievement at the first, second and third edition of the University level annual Art compitition in 2001, 2002 and 2003 organised by Punjabi University Patiala, Punjab India.
Harminder Singh Boparai participated in the National level annual Art compitition organised by Indian Academy of Fine Arts Amritsar in 2007, 2008 and 2010 as well as Lalit Kala Academy Chandigarh in 2008 and 2010 in Chandigarh, India. More than 50 artists were participated and selected based on the quality of their creative work and the cultural and ethnic values they represented. An national committee selected the artists. Then an national jury of eminent art critics, authors, art historians, and museum curators selected the actual pieces to receive awards in the exhibit.
Harminder Singh Boparai was an activist in the group of shine titled SIRJAN 2005 organised by Tac Academy of Fine Arts at Ludhiana, Punjab India.
Distinguished Ludhiana art critic and Director Karuna Mahindra chose him Tac Academy nominees on their stature of professionalism, diversity and artistic individualism. "These artists presentations attempt to speak to a universal audience during this time of world change. The nominated artists represent the diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds of individuals residing in the Punjab. Their artworks provide new visionary concepts of individualistic artistic expressions."

Harminder Boparai has been honoured for him worthy achievements time to time. He won Punjabi University Zonal Level Gold Medal in Clay Modeling for consecutive there years i.e. 2001, 2002 and 2003 respectively.
